While ashtrays are exposed to ash and smoke fumes every day, the process of cleaning your ashtray is quite simple.
First, empty your ashtray and remove any stubborn marks from the base and sides. Then, wipe the ashtray with a clean, damp cloth — you can also use a mild all-purpose cleaner to wipe away any leftover residue.
To remove odors and smells, we recommend soaking your ashtray in warm, soapy water. Once dry, give your ashtray a sniff to see if it needs cleaning again. If your ashtray still smells, try sprinkling some baking soda on the interior of the tray and wiping it with a damp cloth. Then, soak the ashtray again.
Our Chef Inox ashtrays are made with durable, heat-resistant Bakelite, so they can be safely cleaned in your dishwasher. However, we recommend giving your ashtray a thorough wipe and soak before placing it in the dishwasher to remove as much odour as possible.
